its only because …
its only because your shoulders arent as strong as your chest so they cant handle the heavier weight.. same thing happens to me when i lift heavier..try to do shoulder press or something like that to get your shoulders stronger to lift heavier weights easier

Ok ive been benching for a year now, and I keep my elbow in and arch my back, but but my shoulder starts hurting whenever i start reppin heavy weight. any ideas what im doing wrong?

That does ensure you have a straight back but if you bench that way you should ALWAYS have a spotter otherwise if one arm gave way for instance & everything went out of balance you would risk doing yourself a serious injury as you woulden’t have you feet there to stabilise the situation

but the weights bounch so nicly off my chest my ribs r so springy and it makes it easier to do the reps cuz i dont have o slow the weights down as much at the bottom…lol..no i try not to do that

Also… NOT EVERYBODY IS BUILT THE SAME WAY!!! Do not do too little or too much of once thing. If you are creating a plan for yourself I would suggest busting into the subject of body types and the differences between a Ectomorph, Mesomorph, and a Endomorph. Doing a lift for a different body type could decrease results or worse you could lose muscle.

Also stress a couple more things that he forgot to state. First- Try to decrease the flaring of your elbows. Flaring the elbows can cause serious injury to shoulder if you use heavy enough very plus it should feel uncomfortable. Second- Make sure your feet AND your back are flat. Arching your back makes the lift easier to do plus it could cause serious damage to your Vertebral Disc. Third- NO BOUNCING OFF CHEST. Not only is it cheating it could kill you if you break a rib or your sternum.

hey im 16 and have been lifting for a little over a year, and i can do 225-230 depending on the week. 130 is a good max for starting off, when I was 14 I could probably only do about 115. Just get in a routine- I go monday wednesday and friday after school with some friends. Just keep at it and before you know it you will be buff :)

really because i was benching fine until one day i couldnt even do what i usually rep once and since i havnt really been able to bench. but when i did my muscles wernt in pain and i only worked them every two days. what should i do?
